SAT-7 Turk Channel

“There just isn’t anything like this on any of the other channels we can get here.  The programmes provide such a wonderful opportunity for me to explain to my children what we believe as Christians in ways they understand. Living in a non-Christian country as we do, it really is a precious thing to me to have this channel”   A viewer in Turkey

Programmes on SAT-7 TÜRK are designed to provide a clear presentation of the Christian faith and to teach, train and encourage the often isolated groups of believers among the 100 million Turkish-speaking people in the region. The channel’s locally-produced programmes include shows for children, youth and women, as well as many teaching programmes which explain the love of Christ, support local Christians, and uncover Turkey's deep but forgotten Christian history.

One very popular programme is A Guest of the Lord.  This is a cookery programme in which guests are invited to share food and their own personal story and Christian experience.  The concept is a familiar one in Turkey where there is a tradition that visitors could arrive and ask for food and shelter as if they were a “guest of the Lord”.

SAT-7 TÜRK also has programmes for children including the popular Bedtime Stories.

After broadcasting between 2-4 hours a day on the SAT-7 PARS frequency, SAT-7 TÜRK became a 24-hour-a-day internet channel in preparation for its own around-the-clock satellite TV broadcasts. The big breakthrough came in 2015. In February that year, SAT-7 TURK began 24-hour programming on the national satellite network, Türksat, giving it a potential audience of over 50 million Turkish speakers. Within its website, SAT-7 TÜRK has its own news site, to keep audiences abreast of news from Turkish churches.  Visit the website.
