Fundraising Ideas for SAT-7Thank you for considering fundraising for SAT-7. We really appreciate your financial support.
SAT-7 does not sell advertising, nor do programme presenters ask for gifts. Instead we rely on donations from individuals, groups and churches to fund the making of our high quality, culturally relevant Christian programmes. Ideas for fundraisingDish of HopeHelp us raise £20,000 while you have breakfast! We urgently need to raise money to produce a series of programmes specifically to train house church leaders in Iran. Can you help us by organising a Dish of Hope event? Your Dish of Hope event can be whatever you want it to be. Hold it before morning worship, or make it a brunch and have it afterwards. Serve a traditional British breakfast or make it a typical Iranian start to the day. Get together with your home group on a Saturday morning or breakfast with your weekday Bible Study group. Turn it into a prayer breakfast focusing on Christians in Iran or simply make it a fun time to share food together. Do whatever is right for your church! Read more about Dish of Hope here... Download the Dish of Hope fundraising pack here or request a copy to be posted to you here. Personal Challenges/Sponsored EventsIf you’re taking part in a sponsored event – whether it’s a race, silence, bake-off or a swim - and you want to raise money for SAT-7, simply download a SAT-7 sponsorship form here or use a fundraising website such as www.charitygiving.co.uk to help you collect sponsorship money. (Note: SAT-7 is also registered with JustGiving.) Sponsored Walks: Are you part of a walking group or do you simply like a challenge? These stories of sponsored walks that other supporters have done might inspire you! - The Two Moors Way crosses Dartmoor and Exmoor. John
walked all 102 miles of this route in 2008 raising money for
SAT-7. It was John's third sponsored walk for SAT-7, having
done Offa's Dyke and the Coast-to-Coast walk in previous
years, raising £4,000 as a result! Don't be put off if these are too strenuous - why not clip on a step-o-meter, set yourself a daily distance challenge and ask your friends to sponsor you. Swim and raise money! Are you one of the thousands of people who go for a swim each week? Check out http://www.splashpath.com/ - it lets you set a challenge such as 'Swim the Channel'. Then each week as you swim you input the distance you have swum and it plots your progress online. Friends can follow your progress and sponsor you. In Memorium & LegacyRemember a loved one who has died by making a donation in their memory. Alternatively you could consider leaving a gift to SAT-7 in your will. Please contact your solicitor if you wish to leave a legacy to any organisation as they can advise you best. You can read more about leaving a legacy to SAT-7 by downloading our legacy leaflet. Please contact the office if you wish to discuss this further. Raise money searching the internetInternet users can generate money for SAT-7 by choosing search engines that give a donation to a charity when you use them to find information on the internet. To raise money without even trying try one of these examples of search engines that donate to charities:
Raise money by shopping onlineCan you believe it's possible to shop for yourself and raise money for SAT-7 as well? You can do this shopping on loads of everyday websites including Amazon, M&S, Tesco, Asda and many hundreds more. Just go to http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk and register to support SAT-7. Do you use eBay to sell things? Have you heard of MissionFish? When you sell something on eBay you can use MissionFish to donate some or all of the proceeds of your sale to any charity you choose. What a great way to tithe your sales! More IdeasThe next time you have a birthday or special anniversary, why not ask your friends and family to make a donation to SAT-7 in lieu of a gift, as one supporter, Joan, did on her 80th birthday, raising over £1,000. |
viewer quotes"May God bless you all. We ask Jesus to extend His hand, as nothing is too difficult for Him. We pray that He would give comfort to victims’ families in Aleppo and all of Syria. And we pray that He would stop this storm." A Syrian viewer of 'Just for You'"I'm Maya, 3 and a half years old from Amman, watching your bedtime story every night and can't go to bed before listening to your stories. Mama also watching with me." From a young child in Jordan"In a remote village in Afghanistan a Christian worker met an Afghan man who invited him to his house. There he switched on the TV, showed him SAT-7 PARS and said, “This is where I get my food from.” This man also invites his friends to come and watch SAT-7 PARS in this remote village." A viewer in Afghanistan"May God bless your work! This was a very sweet episode! May the programme make a big difference in our country, in the name of Jesus!" A Syrian viewer of 'Just for You'"Your programmes provide such a wonderful opportunity for me to explain to my children what we believe as Christians in ways they understand. It really is a precious thing to have this channel." A MOTHER IN TURKEY"I am from Morocco. I want to serve Jesus with all my heart. Thank you for being the source of encouragement and my spiritual growth. God bless you." A woman in Morocco"Five years ago I started seeking for the truth in different religions. I was lost, confused and wanted to reach out to God. I really needed comfort and peace. Thank God I found peace and the truth through the programmes and the songs on my favourite channel SAT-7." A woman from Saudi Arabia"I came to know Christ through your programmes. I tried to talk about Jesus to my family but they didn’t want to listen to me. So I turn the TV on during your programmes and, without saying a word, allow your programmes to talk to my family about Jesus Christ. And now they sit and watch the programmes!" An Iranian woman from Tabriz"Hello to you dear SAT-7 PARS team. I would like to thank you for all your nice programmes. I came to Christ a few months ago and your teaching programmes helped me to improve in my Christian faith. I am thinking of getting baptised and I would like you to advise me where can I go to get baptised." A SAT-7 PARS viewer"Finally, a Syrian programme has come to us! May God bless you and use you to the glory of His name." A viewer of 'Just for You'"I am touched by the sermons that I’m watching every Friday. I’m not able to go to church but God has opened a door for me to attend a church service in my house every week! I never thought that one day I would see bold Algerians worshipping the Lord and not afraid to be shown on TV." An Algerian viewer"We have a lot of believers in Israel who watch SAT-7 and we want you to pray with us for the salvation of many people in the Holy Land." A viewer in Israel"My son loves many of your programmes. I can leave him to watch SAT-7 KIDS without any fear that he will see information, advice or ideas that are not from the heart of God." A mother of SAT-7 KIDS viewer"I came across your website by chance. I never knew that Christianity is such a beautiful religion. Your site has helped correct many of the misconceptions and wrong ideas I had about the Christian faith and about Christ. I desperately need to know more about Christianity to be delivered from the aimless and hopeless life I presently live." A viewer in Morocco |

- In 2009 a group of supporters trekked to the summit of
Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, raising funds
for SAT-7. They raised almost £10,000, and experienced the
joys and pains of a challenging 6 day trek, the highlight of
which was reaching the summit after a strenuous 5 hour
climb.
