With your help, Christians in the Middle East can choose joy.
The story you’re about to read shows that God meets us in our darkest days.
And it shows the extraordinary power of television to bring life-changing moments of joy.
You can bring joy
through faith-filled TV for Middle East Christians
Alborz’s brother was a successful civil engineer. A graduate and a Christian. A 25-year-old with the world before him. But he lived in Afghanistan, one of the toughest places in the world to be a Christian. No churches are allowed, and it’s illegal to change your faith. So when local extremists discovered this young man was a follower of Jesus – just like you and I – they responded in the most brutal way.
Alborz’s brother was hung upside-down.
Alborz’s heart was filled with anger, and it completely destroyed him. He said, "Hate became my constant companion.”
But Alborz was a SAT-7 viewer – he’d written to thank us for our programmes – and he chose to see beyond his despair.
Alborz chose joy.
Your gift matched
Thanks to a generous donor who has promised to match your gift, your donation will impact double the number of people in the Middle East!
One day the words from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount spoke to him profoundly.
“My tears flowed, my heart softened, and I forgave the extremists,” said Alborz. “The burden I had been carrying was lifted. Today I have great joy in my heart that God has placed there.”
Christians like Alborz can see beyond despair. And for us too, it’s time to look past conflict, poverty and persecution in the Middle East, and stand with Christians choosing joy.
SAT-7 TV programmes make God’s love visible where it’s needed most, across 25 countries, 365 days a year. They provide Christians with the fellowship, discipleship and encouragement they need. And every moment of joy can be the start of a life transformed.
You can provide a lifeline
Will you help produce faith-filled TV for Christians in the Middle East, and bring life-changing moments of joy into their homes?
Behzad from Afghanistan
Behzad, who lives in Afghanistan, had a dream in which a kind voice was beckoning him: “Come to me, my child.” The next day, SAT-7 TV was on and the presenter quoted Jesus: “Come to me, all you who labour.” Behzad immediately called the show and became a believer.
Solmaz from Iran
In Iran, Solmaz goes to her sister’s house once a week to watch SAT-7 TV. She wrote to us and said, “If they close our church and we have no access to our leaders, then SAT-7 is standing for us. If it was not for you, our faith might have been extinguished.”
Thank you so much for choosing joy.
