Anthony from Syria shares a heartfelt prayer
SAT-7 KIDS viewer Anthony recently called in to popular children’s programme Bible Heroes to share a prayer in which he brought all his concerns to God:
Hi, Karen and Elie, how are you?
I’m Anthony Attia from Syria. Today I want to pray for all the needy and the water crisis happening here in Al Hasakah. Lord Jesus, if you will, end the water crisis happening here in Al Hasakah and take the coronavirus from the world. Lord, don’t let the explosion in Lebanon happen again. I thank God that the SAT-7 crew were not hurt.
Thank you Lord, Amen.
(Al Hasakah, in northeastern Syria, suffered water shortages throughout 2020 as the supply was turned on and off several times.)
Every Thursday evening, hundreds of viewers like Anthony wait to call in live on Bible Heroes. Presenters Elie Awwad and Karen Khoury enthusiastically engage the children in discussions about Bible characters and what can be learnt from them, and in a quiz competition with prizes.
Karen and Elie’s passion for sharing the Word of God with children shows in their genuine interactions with callers, who range from children who never miss Sunday School to those who have never attended church. “When we first started this in 2014, we didn’t realise the effect it would have on children. Now, I see how God has blessed our viewers,” Elie says. “Bible Heroes plants His Word in children, which will yield fruit in their lives later on.”
