Community Engagement
Churches and organisations have begun to recognise how SAT-7’s programmes could be used creatively to support and positively impact communities across the UK. We have worked with partners to define which of our resources could be most helpful to refugees and/or to Arabic and Farsi-speaking communities and ministries. We have initially developed:
- an Arabic language resource, Bedtime Stories, for use as a welcome gift to Arabic-speaking refugee families
- online Arabic and Farsi language video portals for use with adults who need support across a range of life issues and for those who want to know more about the Christian faith.
We are delighted to offer these resources to organisations, churches and individuals who are working with people from the Middle East and North Africa in their local communities.
Bedtime Stories Resource
The Bedtime Stories DVD is designed to be given to children who speak Arabic. It contains six 20-minute episodes of Bedtime Stories, one of SAT-7’s most popular programmes for younger children. Each episode focuses on a simple value and is designed to calm children at bedtime. Learn more
Arabic and Farsi Video Portals
To help equip churches in the UK to reach out to Arabic and Farsi speakers, SAT-7 has collected a series of programmes which answer some fundamental questions of the Christian faith, such as, “Who is Jesus and what is the incarnation? What is sin? Why did God choose to die? Why do we need salvation? Who is Holy Spirit and why we need him?” These programmes are presented by Arabic and Iranian theologians and are available as a series of online Youtube links.

WHY DOES GOD ALLOW THE REFUGEE CRISIS TO HAPPEN?
The world has 22.5 million refugees, with over half of them coming from Afghanistan, Syria and South Sudan. [UNHCR] Why would God allow such tragedy? Iraqi Pastor Jalil Dawood, who sought refuge from the Iran-Iraq War as a teenager, has one answer:
The Lord allowed the situation of refugees to see people get saved. That's His plan...
When you're blessed, you need to bless others. When you're given, you need to give. When you're cared for, you need to care. Some countries remain closed. Yet, SAT-7 can reach them through the news and the media. We need to show them love as salt and light in the world."
