FREELY WORSHIP
“May it be that one day in my country, Afghanistan, we will be able to freely worship the Lord Jesus Christ,” said Behbod, a man from Afghanistan. Pray for all the believers in the MENA who, because of persecution, can only worship in a whisper. May their souls be strengthened until the day they can sing out loud!
Tuesday 9 June
JOYFUL KITCHEN
Produced in SAT-7’s Istanbul studio and released last
autumn, Joyful Kitchen (pictured below) is a life-giving
cookery programme on SAT-7 PARS with a unique
twist. Co-hosted by a child and a chef, the programme
exists to encourage cooperation and communication
among family members. Pray that, as families watch
and laugh along, they will grow closer to the Lord and
to each other.
Wednesday 10 June
“I LOVE CHRIST”
“I want to listen to you and get informed,” said Kaan,
a 50-year-old viewer of Let’s Talk About This on SAT-7
TÜRK. “I am warm to the idea of Christianity, as from
my experiences it feels like the most honest faith.” Pray
for Kaan’s exploration of the Christian faith, that his
watching SAT-7 will guide him in the right direction.
Thursday 11 June
SAT-7’S PRESENTERS
Pray for SAT-7’s faithful supporters around the world
who are gearing up for summer fundraising activities.
May they have inspired ideas, fresh energy, and good
support from within their communities!
Friday 12 June
ONLINE SAFETY
The age of social media is fraught with possibilities, but also with risks, especially for young people. Pray for people in positions of leadership at SAT-7, that they will have discernment and wisdom as they seek to create more wholesome online spaces.
Saturday 13 June
IN-PERSON EVENTS
Last summer, a team from SAT-7 KIDS visited schools and refugee camps in Lebanon to promote mental health awareness and online safety, whilst also highlighting the positive content available through SAT-7. Pray for God’s protection and blessing on this team as they prepare more speaking engagements.
Sunday 14 June
CHILDREN
“But as for you, continue in what you have learned... from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Timtohy 3:14a, 15b). Pray that MENA children from Christian families will continue in what they have learned from the Bible.
Monday 15 June
“I DIDN’T HAVE A SAFE COMMUNITY”
“When I tried to change, I didn’t have a safe community that could help me develop my relationship with God,” Imad from Syria told us. After we supported him and helped him sign up to a youth conference, he said: “Thank you for your concern; you have no idea how much this means to me.” Pray that more young men in the Middle East would find safe communities through SAT-7.
Tuesday 16 June
NADIM FROM ALGERIA
“I began discovering the world on social media by myself, and I realized that Christians truly live with inner peace,” said Nadim from Algeria. “I started being drawn in without realizing it... even though I come from a different background.” Praise God that Nadim found out about Christianity through social media, built trust with our team, and ended up giving his heart to Jesus. May many more follow this pattern!
Wednesday 17 June
“HARMFUL IDEAS”
Veronica, a woman from Egypt, told us this: “I work with young people... whenever they speak with [other] girls, they often find their minds clouded by negativity absorbed from social media. Some have even told me... “we are being destroyed by harmful ideas.”” Pray that more believers in the MENA will commit to helping young women walk the narrow path, just like Veronica is doing.
Thursday 18 June
LED TO CHRIST
Lale, a SAT-7 PARS viewer, said: “My sister and I found faith through social media and left our old way of life. We learn a lot from Christian programmes. The best programmes in my life are yours.” Pray that more people in the MENA who regularly use social media will be led to Christ through it!
Friday 19 June
“TRULY SAFE”
“Our children are truly safe watching SAT-7...It genuinely follows the teachings of the Bible,” said Marwan, a mother from Lebanon. Thank God that parents across the MENA feel this way about our channels!
Saturday 20 June
WORLD REFUGEE DAY
Inspirational SAT-7 ARABIC talk show You Are Not Alone tells the stories of individuals and families who have made it through some of the toughest circumstances imaginable, such as refugees fleeing war. This World Refugee Day, pray that God will use this programme to comfort and encourage refugee viewers.
Sunday 21 June
THE GREAT LOVE OF THE FATHER
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1a). This Father’s Day, pray for young believers in the MENA who do not have a loving father figure in their life, that they will experience the great love of God the Father.
Monday 22 June
TRANSFORMATION
New SAT-7 PARS programme Transformation (pictured below) helps isolated believers strengthen their faith by developing holy habits in daily life. Pray that as presenters discuss disciplines like silence, Sabbath rest, acts of service, fasting and thankfulness, viewers will grow in godliness.
Tuesday 23 June
HASSAN FROM IRAQ
Hassan, a young man from Iraq, became a Christian after speaking with our Viewer Support team, but he faces dangers. “Iraq is an unsafe country,” he said. “If people in my area knew I was a Christian, they would kill me.” Pray for Hassan’s safety, as well as wisdom and courage to keep following Jesus in his context.
Wednesday 24 June
SAT-7 PARS VIEWER SUPPORT
We recently asked
Roozbeh Mahmid a
series of questions
about the SAT-7
PARS Viewer Support
team he is a part of,
which provides free
counselling, prayer
and discipleship to
our Iranian viewers.
Pray that Roozbeh will
be filled with God’s
love and wisdom as
he contributes to this
crucial work.
Thursday 25 June
WHO IS IN THE TEAM?
Roozbeh explained that the SAT-7 PARS Viewer
Support team is extremely varied, consisting of eight
people aged 20-60, half of whom live in Türkiye, with
the others spread between Cyprus and the UK. Pray for
a strong sense of unity among them.
Friday 26 June
WHAT IS THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART?
Roozbeh answered: “Working with like-minded
colleagues and being involved in reaching people
with the good news of Christ; the unity of Spirit that
is evident in interactions; and seeing the difference
that is being made in the lives of people in Iran and
Afghanistan.” Pray the team will be encouraged by the
difference they’re making!
Saturday 27 June
WHAT IS THE HARDEST PART?
“Providing counselling for people going through
extremely difficult circumstances” is one of the hardest
parts of the job, says Roozbeh, as well as “feeling unable
to help in any practical way... [and] feeling guilty that we
are safe and they are not.” Pray for God’s protection on
the minds of our staff and peace for their hearts.
Sunday 28 June
HOW MANY VIEWERS DO YOU SUPPORT?
The numbers vary greatly
due to “the tendency
of the connection with
people in Iran to drop at
any time depending on
events in the country,”
Roozbeh explained.
Under normal conditions,
Viewer Support staff might
deal with 20 to 40 or
more people in one day.
Pray for God’s strength to
manage their workload.
Monday 29 June
HOW WOULD THE TEAM LIKE TO GROW?
Roozbeh shared that the team would like to grow in
their ability to “answer questions in ways that are both
practical and effective in getting through to traumatised
people.” Pray that God will help our Viewer Support
team to support viewers through trauma in the best way
possible.
Tuesday 30 June
HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR THE TEAM?
“Pray for renewing of the Holy Spirit, especially in the
heaviness of these days – the team spend everyday
hearing about people’s suffering,” said Roozbeh. “Pray
that they are sustained and able to speak God’s words
every day to the people they serve.”
