Being there for people of the Middle East and North Africa

Being there
FOR ISOLATED BELIEVERS
Inner Revolution aims to bring Iranians across the generations together in an atmosphere of dialogue, understanding, and healing. Discussions focus on
psychological and emotional challenges – from war and revolution, to poverty and unemployment – and how all this has impacted their walk with God.
New for 2023 was Parables of Jesus, made by and for Moroccans, which uses drama to engage viewers with the parables of Jesus. A pastor from a
house church in Marrakesh told SAT-7 how important it is to have access to a television ministry. He said, “Don’t stop what you are doing, keep sharing the Gospel! SAT-7 is helping to grow the Church in Morocco; it makes such an impact on people here.”

Being there
FOR MARGINALISED WOMEN
Today Not Tomorrow continued as part of SAT-7’s Gender Equality and FoRB project (Freedom of Religion or Belief). SAT-7 ARABIC also launched a women’s programme on social media, SAT-7 Podcast, which featured stories of courageous and inspiring women.
SAT-7 TÜRK’s flagship programme Homemade entered its eighth season in 2023 and continued to give women and girls the opportunity to learn, be heard, and know they are not alone.

Being there
FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Church4Kids, is a weekly live show on SAT-7 PARS Instagram which includes worship videos and teaching for children. “Persian-speaking children who follow Jesus often don’t have other Christian friends,” shares presenter Maryam, “so they reach out to us as their church family.”
Behind the Door is a vibrant live show that helps young people learn about Jesus through games and challenges. There is also time to discuss the issues they face such as social media, fear and anxiety. A mother of two contacted the show to share:
"Behind The Door is so popular. The kids wait for it every week, and even my husband and I watch it!”

Being there
FOR PEOPLE IN CRISIS
COMFORT IN THE FACE OF DISASTER
People are still reeling from devastation caused by natural disasters in 2023. SAT-7 ARABIC’s You Are Not Alone exists to stand with viewers and make
the voices of survivors heard. Presenter Sirene Semerdjian said:
"If at such times SAT-7 is not with the people, as our programme name says, then when will it be?”
FELLOWSHIP FOR BELIEVERS UNDER PRESSURE
Brothers and sisters in some MENA countries face discrimination, rejection and even death by choosing to follow Jesus. Programmes like Gospel of John and Living Faith unpack Biblical teaching and provide precious fellowship in countries where living as a Christian is extremely risky.
HOPE IN THE MIDST OF CONFLICT
The tragedy of war rages on across the Holy Land today. Conflict is tearing apart other nations of the MENA, including Sudan, Yemen and Syria, to name but a few. SAT-7 create powerful, faith-filled digital content that points viewers to the good news of Jesus. Pierette contacted us with this encouragement:
"[SAT-7] is transmitting life amidst all this death. What we need more than talking and analysing is to pray.”
New Developments
SAT-7’s multi-language on-demand platform was the first Christian service of its kind in the Middle East. Now with over 1 million users, we want to grow viewership with new content specifically designed for the app.
Last year saw the installation of cuttingedge technology at SAT-7 PARS’s studio in Limassol. This replaces physically built sets with virtual ones. SAT-7 will install this technology in other studios and use it to improve creativity and content delivery.
SAT-7 wants to better understand the impact our programming has on our audiences. We have started to implement processes to help us develop
new ways of evaluating and improving our impact, and road-test these on specific programmes.
We want to become ever more relevant and accessible to our younger audiences, who bear such responsibility for the future of the region. We will continue to search out gifted young communicators and recruit them to present our satellite and digital youth programmes.
