Spring is a time for new beginnings and the Bible constantly reminds us to make the most of them. We are new creations in Christ – the old has gone, the new has come. (2 Cor. 5:17)
In this spirit, on 1 March, SAT-7 ARABIC began airing A New Day – a new daily morning show that serves up 15-minutes of spiritual encouragement and biblical inspiration to help viewers start the day with God.
Varied and holistic
A variety of presenters bring their different personalities and specialist skills and knowledge to the show. They share through personal testimony, through song, through visual aids that bring to life biblical insights, and through sports and nutrition segments to model healthy living.
During a worship segment, Samuel Farouk sings traditional village folk music. In a stand-up comedy segment, a young woman contrasts people’s common bad habits with positive attitudes and behaviour. And for younger viewers, there’s a special message from a grandmother figure named Teta Bascota.
Farid Samir, the Executive Director of SAT-7 Egypt, said, “The first moments of the day set the mood for the rest of the day. So through this programme, we want to encourage viewers to start the first moments of every day with God, in a positive attitude based on the Bible.”
First moments of every day with God
A New Day airs at 7:00 a.m. Cairo/Beirut time, just as many are getting ready to start the day – whether that means climbing aboard a mini-bus and heading into the heart of a crowded city or setting off on foot to a local workshop or into the fields.
For those who have time to stop and watch around lunchtime, the show airs again at 12.30 pm. Whether viewers watch in the mornings or midday, SAT-7 hopes A New Day will become a regular fixture in viewers’ calendars as it offers practical advice for daily living, lifts their spirits and shows them God’s will for a fruitful life.
Thanks to your support for SAT-7, A New Day reminds viewers that every day offers countless opportunities to be a new creation in Christ.
