Nearly two years of creative work on SAT-7 KIDS’ new website have been rewarded with one of the most prestigious media awards in the Arab world.
SAT-7 KIDS Broadcast and Audience Relations Manager, Andrea Elmounayer, said, “After almost two years of hard work on the new website design, and out of 450 registrations, our website, www.sat7kids.com, won the gold prize in the Media – TV and Radio category in the 8th Pan Arab Web Awards competition.”
The award will be presented at a ceremony on 22nd September in Sharm El Sheikh, attended by Arab Ambassadors, competition winners, and national and media leaders.
The new SAT-7 KIDS website was launched on 10th December 2011 to mark the fourth anniversary of the children’s channel. The channel itself is watched by an incredible 9.25 million children across the Arab world.
The website, designed for 5- to 12-year-olds, features all the popular SAT-7 KIDS programmes along with games, quizzes, devotions, daily Bible verses, testimonies, chat forums and recent news. And it has quickly gained a following with 10,000 new visits a month and 75,987 visits between January and August.
Andrea, who led a five-strong design team in creating the site, said, “We wanted to find new ways of enabling children to watch SAT-7 KIDS programmes any time they want” as well as “practise their reading skills, and get to know the Bible and Jesus better.”
Andrea added, “Two years ago, a new up-to-date SAT-7 KIDS website was a dream for me and now we are realising it.”
