Emily Shurmer recently interviewed Marianne Awaraji, a beloved presenter and Audience Relations Manager for SAT-7’s Arabic channels. She finds out more about Marianne’s work with SAT-7’s viewer support team, which provides practical support, prayer and advice to hundreds of SAT-7 viewers each day. Marianne’s team mostly hear from non-Christian viewers asking questions about faith – listen as Marianne shares her powerful stories of God at work in people’s lives.
How to pray for Marianne and the viewer support team:
- Pray that the team will stay close to Jesus, and receive His wisdom and discernment.
“It’s not easy to be hearing hundreds of heartbreaking stories every day. We have to go back to the source. I always remind the team that we need to stay at the feet of Jesus, because he’s the only one who is going to fill us and give us wisdom and discernment to help our viewers.” - Pray that Jesus will work miracles in viewers’ lives, and bring healing even in the most difficult circumstances.
“We believe in the power of prayer. It has done miracles. Sometimes when we hear a story, we feel We don't know what to do, but we lift our eyes to Jesus. And we ask him to use us as vessels to help these people in need.” - Pray for more partnerships with professional counsellors, to provide the very best support to viewers who are struggling.
“We urgently need to tackle mental health, especially after Covid and the different traumas that have occurred in their lives – the Beirut blast, the war in the Holy Land, the natural disasters that have been happening over and over in the Arab world… We are the bridges to link them to counsellors. So we’re praying for more partners that are able to handle the great amount of hard cases we receive every month.”
